North Orlando Parks Review #2 – Secret Lake Park

Couple fishing docks, tennis and basketball courts, baseball field, a walking trail, and a big ole lake – This is Secret Lake Park in a nutshell. It’s a cool place!

Things to do – 3.5/5

Secret Lake Park got the fields for sure. The basketball and tennis courts look great and are well maintained, and the park itself is just beautiful. It’s very calming to take a stroll on the walking trail, which weaves around the park. The baseball field is good for what it is, and the playground is normally teeming with kids. Secret Lake Park isn’t packed by any means, but its no secret either – families know about this place, and there’s usually a good atmosphere there.

Location – 3.5/5

Secret Lake Park is kinda tucked behind two larger roads, and depending on the time of the day, it can super easy or slightly annoying to get to. It’s only a few miles away from Wirz Park actually, so it’s easy to hit on the same trip.

My Dog’s Rating – 4/5

My Terrier / Australian Cattle Dog mix, Josie, enjoys walking the trail, but like at Wirz Park, she gets awfully bored after one lap. This park is solid for her because outside of the playground area, there’s normally not a dense amount of people there. A sprawling field behind the baseball field is perfect to run around with your dog off leash, or throw a ball to fetch. Josie, however, believes fetch is beneath her, but she enjoys the open space and running around.

Overall, Secret Lake Park has it’s perks! It’s a fun neighborhood park, and if I lived within walking distance I’d be here everyday. Great!

Onto the next park!
